I’m a bit of an adventurer, so my life has definitely been an interesting one. I was rambunctious as a kid and got into way more stuff than I could get out of. This adventurous spirit didn’t subside as I grew older. I’ve done a bit of everything from singing in a rock ‘n’ roll band to riding bulls (which my mother wasn’t pumped about) to working as a press secretary on congressional campaigns. I’m the son of a preacher and I’ve always had a calling for ministry – a tug in my heart that I couldn’t ignore. I drifted for a few years, but God never gave up on me.
I met the love of my life in 1999 and, together, Jennifer and I started following God’s plan for our lives. Along the way, God has blessed us with four wonderful children—Jayden, Jeselyn, Jillian and Jackson. For the last 15 years, we’ve followed this passion to reach our generation with the message of Jesus. It’s what brought Jennifer and me to Houston. The adventure is still calling to us and we believe that God has challenged us to ignite the hearts of a generation to see His Kingdom established on the Earth. We are excited about launching Hope City.

Our services begin with upbeat, contemporary praise and worship music. We encourage everyone to participate. Don’t worry, we didn’t know the songs at first either.You’ll notice that we devote a lot of time to worship. Worship isn’t just a filler before the sermon – worship is the reason we come together! It’s a powerful and personal way to connect our hearts with God.
You’ll also notice a lot of variety in how people participate in the worship time: some sit, others stand, some raise their hands. How you respond to God in worship is up to you; all we ask is that you go after God with all your heart, giving Him your very best.
What Can I Expect?
This weekend at Real Hope will be exciting, casual, and relaxed.
You’ll be warmly greeted in the parking lot and directed to the entrance. Inside you will find warm friendly faces happy to show you around and make you feel at home.
Before service, pick up a freshly-brewed cup of coffee, and a bagel or donut. Then make your way to a seat and prepare for an uplifting worship experience.
We share Bible-based, encouraging, and life-giving messages that will leave you refreshed and pumped for the week. This is a great place to bring your family, make new friends, and connect with Jesus.
What About My Children?
We Love Children! Real Hope’s Next Gen is a Children’s ministry uniquely designed with your child in mind!
We offer a place where children from pre-school through sixth grade can discover and develop a passion for God. Through teaching and a variety of fun activities, children are exposed to God’s Word and challenged to grow in their relationship with God. Our children’s services are staffed with adults and High School children and young adults who are committed to teaching and ministering to children.
You can be confident that your child is well-cared for and having a great time learning about God while you worship. Our Children’s Services our dismissed after the worship in our main Sunday service.
Are You a Guest?
Don’t worry. If you are a guest, we will not embarrass you, have you stand up, hold hands or ask you to give money.
We know that many people want to check out the church and “be anonymous” for awhile – and that’s fine with us!
Dress is comfortable; you’ll find everything from jeans and t-shirts to business casual to worship. Real Hope is not about what you look like or what you wear but about building your relationship with God.
