Grow in our knowledge and faith,

Give in love and,

Go out into the world to shine brightly with the light of salvation from our Savior Jesus Christ and tell the world what we know is true!

Study Guide: Taking The First Step

As we make plans to take the next step it is important to remember that we are all part of the body of Christ.  God has uniquely created each and every one of us for His Purpose.

I Corinthians 12:27 says, "Now you are the body of Christ, and each one of you is a part of it."  That is God’s plan for each of us but first we must stand up and take the first step.

 Suggested reading: I Corinthians 12:27

  1. What does it mean to be an individual member of the body of Christ?
  2. How can we use our uniqueness to work with other members of the body of Christ?
  3. God’s intention is for everyone to step up and serve. What are some things that are holding you back from taking the first step?
  4. Read Ephesians 4:16. Jesus’ vision for the church isn’t that somebody does everything; it’s that everybody does something! How has God gifted you to serve the body of Christ? How are you using your gifts to serve the body of Christ?

If you are serving, thank you and please continue.  If you are not and you would like to begin please ask God for His direction.  As an example you might consider this prayer:

Lord God, in the name of Your Son Jesus Christ I offer myself to You as a servant.  I would be honored and grateful to work for You.  Amen

 Suggested Reading for this week:

Ephesians 4

I Corinthians 12
