“Ready For Revival | Fellowship: Three Things that Godly Relationships Require,"
Pastor Jeff Wallace.
God is a relational God and He created us to be in community. As we strive for revival in our lives, an important piece of the puzzle is to be in community with God and others.
• How has being in community helped you grow in your faith and walk with Jesus?
• Have you ever experienced being hurt in community? If so, how does this cause you to struggle with community now?
2 Be completely humble and gentle; be patient, bearing with one another in love. 3 Make every effort to keep the unity of the Spirit through the bond of peace. 4 There is one body and one Spirit, just as you were called to one hope when you were called; 5 one Lord, one faith, one baptism; 6 one God and Father of all, who is over all and through all and in all.
Inward Posture Concerning Fellowship.
What do we have to do to have the proper inward posture?
• We have to be intentional about seeking community
• We have to be deliberate and purposeful
• It requires GUTS
G – God being in the midst of the process
U – Understanding the difference between healthy/unhealthy relationships
T – Truth telling between all parties
S – Sacrifice and commitment to be authentic, transparent, and vulnerable
16 Therefore confess your sins to each other and pray for each other so that you may be healed. The prayer of a righteous person is powerful and effective.
17 As iron sharpens iron,
so one person sharpens another.
This deals with the people that we are surrounding ourselves with.
• What people are you surrounding yourself with?
• How has this changed as you have grown closer to God?
16 Live in harmony with one another. Do not be proud, but be willing to associate with people of low position. Do not be conceited. 17 Do not repay anyone evil for evil. Be careful to do what is right in the eyes of everyone. 18 If it is possible, as far as it depends on you, live at peace with everyone.
There is one body and one Spirit, just as you were called to one hope when you were called; 5 one Lord, one faith, one baptism; 6 one God and Father of all, who is over all and through all and in all.
Our Upward Posture.
• What does living in harmony with one another mean?
• Why is this important?
• Why are these hard at times?
We have a community that connects with our core convictions
• Our principles, we stand on Absolute truth
• Our perspectives, we believe that people matter
• Our platforms, we choose love before sides
We have a community that holds us accountable to Godly character.
We have a community that champions and celebrates each other’s God given callings.
1 Peter 4:8-9
8 Above all, love each other deeply, because love covers over a multitude of sins. 9 Offer hospitality to one another without grumbling.
1 Peter 4:10-11
10 Each of you should use whatever gift you have
received to serve others, as faithful stewards of God’s grace in its various forms.11 If anyone speaks, they should do so as one who speaks the very words of God. If anyone serves, they should do so with the strength God provides, so that in all things God may be praised through Jesus Christ. To him be the glory and the power forever and ever. Amen.
44 All the believers were together and had everything in common. 45 They sold property and possessions to give to anyone who had need. 46 Every day they continued to meet together in the temple courts. They broke bread in their homes and ate together with glad and sincere hearts,
What are your Next Steps in your faith journey?
Are you living in harmony with the people God has put into your life?
If not, pray about the changes that you need to make.
Never forget, God is in you and with you always. He will never forget you, He will never turn away. He is listening and always,
God Loves You No Matter What!
ANNOUNCEMENTS & EVENTS
for the week of 9-27-2020
Not Your Mama’s Bible Study presents:
The Book of Ruth Bianca Juárez Olthoff
God can seem distant when dreams fade, people die, or careers fail. It may feel like He slammed the door in your face and walked out for good. No one knows the feeling of abandonment more than Ruth and Naomi. Their story begins with the worst—death, famine, and poverty. And God remains silent.
But the book of Ruth doesn’t end with despair. The story brims with hope because God works on behalf of the two widows in ways they least expect. In this 7-part series, Bianca Juárez Olthoff, speaker and author of Play with Fire, teaches through Ruth to show how God moves behind the scenes in our lives.
Walk the journey of Ruth, Naomi, and Boaz and discover the devoted love of God and His transformative power in our lives.
Beverages and a light snack will be served.
Text to Tithe: Due to a number of requests for a more "modern" way to tithe, Text to Tithe has been created. It’s safe, fast, and secure. Just text the word, "give" to (786) 288-0839 and follow the link. Thanks!
