Make It Matter: Designed to Matter
Pastor Daniel Groves
We were designed to matter! Pastor Daniel Groves reminds us of our purpose in week two of Make It Matter. Are you walking in the purpose you were designed for?
YOU WERE DESIGNED TO WALK IN PURPOSE.
Ephesians 2:10 (AMP)
For we are His workmanship [His own master work, a work of art], created in Christ Jesus [reborn from above – spiritually transformed, renewed, ready to be used] for good works, which God prepared [for us] beforehand [taking paths which He set], so that we would walk in them [living the good life which He prearranged and made ready for us].
The Gospel means, “Good News.”
The Good News is that God loves you.
God created all of us on purpose for His purpose.
Genesis 1:27 New International Version
27 So God created mankind in his own image,
in the image of God he created them; male and female he created them.
God does not call the qualified; He qualifies the called.
Don’t buy into the lie that you are not qualified.
Psalm 139:14-17 (NLT)
“Thank you for making me so wonderfully complex! Your workmanship is marvelous—how well I know it. You watched me as I was being formed in utter seclusion, as I was woven together in the dark of the womb. You saw me before I was born. Every day of my life was recorded in your book. Every moment was laid out before a single day had passed. How precious are your thoughts about me, O God. They cannot be numbered!
God is never mad at you, He’s madly in love with you.
We are made to last forever.
Psalm 119:105 (MSG)
By your words I can see where I’m going; they throw a beam of light on my dark path. I’ve committed myself and I’ll never turn back.
God is far more interested in your future, not your past.
Free will gives us the opportunity to choose to follow God.
Job 12:10 (NLT)
For the life of every living thing is in his hand, and the breath of every human being.
To find your purpose you must start with God.
Know God through a relationship with Him.
- YOU WERE DESIGNED TO WALK IN PURPOSE.
1 Peter 4:10-11 (NLT)
God has given each of you a gift from his great variety of spiritual gifts. Use them well to serve one another. Do you have the gift of speaking? Then speak as though God himself were speaking through you. Do you have the gift of helping others? Do it with all the strength and energy that God supplies. Then everything you do will bring glory to God through Jesus Christ. All glory and power to him forever and ever! Amen.
We are all called to served.
We are all designed for a purpose.
Anytime we compromise God’s design it shortens and cheapens our lives.
Matthew 5:13-16 New International Version
“You are the salt of the earth. But if the salt loses its saltiness, how can it be made salty again? It is no longer good for anything, except to be thrown out and trampled underfoot. You are the light of the world. A town built on a hill cannot be hidden. Neither do people light a lamp and put it under a bowl. Instead, they put it on its stand, and it gives light to everyone in the house. In the same way, let your light shine before others, that they may see your good deeds and glorify your Father in heaven. “
YOU WERE DESIGNED TO BE MULTIPLIED.
Colossians 3:17 (NLT)
And whatever you do or say, do it as a representative of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks through him to God the Father.
Is your life leaving a mark?
Do you recognize that healing is in your hands?
Walk in your purpose, trust God and mark others by your purpose.
Hebrews 12:2 (BSB)
Let us fix our eyes on Jesus, the author and perfecter of our faith, who for the joy set before Him endured the cross.
YOU WERE DESIGNED TO DEMONSTRATE HIS POWER.
Zephaniah 3:17 (GNT)
The Lord your God is with you; His power gives you victory. The Lord will take delight in you, and in His love He will give you new life. He will sing and be joyful over you.
Ephesians 3:20-21 (NKJV)
Now to Him who is able to do exceedingly abundantly above all that we ask or think, according to the power that works in us, to Him be glory in the church by Christ Jesus to all generations, forever and ever. Amen.
You are designed to draw the power of God.
We are designed to carry God’s supernatural powers.
We are designed to walk in God’s purpose.
