Proverbs 18:21 (BSB)
Life and death are in the power of the tongue.
When we put Jesus and the word of God at the center, we position ourselves to receive a miracle.
John 10:10 (NIV)
The thief comes only to steal and kill and destroy…
John 10:10 (ESV)
I came that they may have life and have it abundantly.
John 16:33 (NLT)
I have told you all this so that you may have peace in me. Here on earth you will have many trials and sorrows. But take heart, because I have overcome the world.
Proverbs 3:5 (AMP)
Trust in and rely confidently on the Lord with all your heart and do not rely on your own insight or understanding.
God will never give you a life where He’s not necessary.
Psalms 37:7 (KJV)
Rest in the Lord, and wait patiently for Him:
Acts 27:4144 (NIV)
But the ship struck a sandbar and ran aground. The bow stuck fast and would not move, and the stern was broken to pieces by the pounding of the surf. The soldiers planned to kill the prisoners to prevent any of them from swimming away and escaping. But the centurion wanted to spare Paul’s life and kept them from carrying out their plan. He ordered those who could swim to jump overboard first and get to land. The rest were to get there on planks or on other pieces of the ship. In this way everyone reached land safely.
2 Corinthians 12:9 (NIV)
But he said to me, "My grace is suficient for you, for my power is made perfect in weakness." Therefore I will boast all the more gladly about my weaknesses, so that Christ’s power may rest on me.
God will still get you to your destination on broken pieces.
Acts 28:110 (NIV)
Once safely on shore, we found out that the island was called Malta. The islanders showed us unusual kindness. They built a fire and welcomed us all because it was raining and cold. Paul gathered a pile of brushwood and, as he put it on the fire, a viper, driven out by the heat, fastened itself on his hand. When the islanders saw the snake hanging from his hand, they said to each other, "This man must be a murderer; for though he escaped from the sea, Justice has not allowed him to live." But Paul shook the snake off into the fire and suffered no ill effects. The people expected him to swell up or suddenly fall dead; but after waiting a long time and seeing nothing unusual happen to him, they changed their minds and said he was a god. There was an estate nearby that belonged to Publius, the chief official of the island. He welcomed us to his home and showed us generous hospitality for three days. His father was sick in bed, suffering from fever. Paul went in to see him and, after prayer, placed his hands on him and healed him.
When this had happened, the rest of the sick on the island came and were cured. They honored us in many ways; and when we were ready to sail, they furnished us with the supplies
God will pull purpose out of you where the enemy has tried to stop you.
Hell can’t stop what heaven has started in us.
Philippians 5:7 (NIV)
And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.
1 Peter 5:7 (AMPC)
Casting the whole of your care all your anxieties, all your worries, all your concerns, once and for all on Him, for He cares for you affectionately and cares about you watchfully.
Stop monitoring things you already left in God’s hands.
If we are going to go through it then we are going to grow through it.
1. What area of your life do you feel is broken?
2. What breakthrough are you believing God for?
3. We often say, "God will never give you a life that makes Him unnecessary." What areas of your life are you needing God the most in right now?
4. 2 Corinthians 12:9 talks about God’s grace being sufficient for your weakness. How has God’s grace sustained you?
5. Are you still monitoring things that you’ve placed in God’s hands? How can you work on completely releasing that to Him?
6. We believe that we don’t just want to go through things but we want to grow through them. How are you growing in this season?
Never forget, God is in you and with you always. He will never forget you, He will never turn away. He is listening and always remember, God Loves You No Matter What!
ANNOUNCEMENTS & EVENTS
for the week of 7-26-2020
Not Your Mama’s Bible Study presents:
The Book of Judges J.D. Greear
The book of Judges cracks a window into depths of the human soul. Watch a nation struggle with its identity and relationship to its God. Heroes and heroines arise, who seem to have the potential to save Israel. But in the end, each proves to be a broken savior that cannot deliver.
In this series, pastor and author J.D. Greear wades into the book of Judges to shine a light onto the muddy waters of human rebellion. The stories and truths within are not just archaic tales with no relevance for us today. Rather, J.D. works through each chapter unpacking the truth of God’s grace in the midst of human wickedness, and shows how only the divine can redeem the fallen.
Come to Bible Study Hungry.
This week we will be serving Panini Sandwiches, Hot Ham & Cheese Sliders, Lemonade, Iced Tea, with Brownies & Ice Cream for dessert.
