Sermon Notes:
Limitless God
“Limitless Love, Part II.”
Pastor Justin Miller

We are challenged to have limitless faith, to have limitless hope and trust God’s limitless power. With this message from Real Life Pastor Justin Miller, we will learn about receiving God’s limitless love. When we understand God’s limitless love, it changes everything. It changes the way we see God; it changes the way we see other people; it changes the way we see the world – and it even changes the way we see ourselves.

When we know God we know love.

God calls us to show His love.

Luke 15:20-32 New International Version
20 So he got up and went to his father. “But while he was still a long way off, his father saw him and was filled with compassion for him; he ran to his son, threw his arms around him and kissed him. 21 “The son said to him, ‘Father, I have sinned against heaven and against you. I am no longer worthy to be called your son.’ 22 “But the father said to his servants, ‘Quick! Bring the best robe and put it on him. Put a ring on his finger and sandals on his feet.  23 Bring the fattened calf and kill it. Let’s have a feast and celebrate. 24 For this son of mine was dead and is alive again; he was lost and is found.’ So they began to celebrate. 25 “Meanwhile, the older son was in the field. When he came near the house, he heard music and dancing. 26 So he called one of the servants and asked him what was going on. 27 ‘Your brother has come,’ he replied, ‘and your father has killed the fattened calf because he has him back safe and sound.’ 28 “The older brother became angry and refused to go in. So his father went out and pleaded with him. 29 But he answered his father, ‘Look! All these years I’ve been slaving for you and never disobeyed your orders. Yet you never gave me even a young goat so I could celebrate with my friends. 30 But when this son of yours who has squandered your property with prostitutes comes home, you kill the fattened calf for him!’ 31 “ ‘My son,’ the father said, ‘you are always with me, and everything I have is yours. 32 But we had to celebrate and be glad, because this brother of yours was dead and is alive again; he was lost and is found.’ ”

When we lose our why we lose our way.

We have to remember who we are and why we are here.

Our church is not a country club for saved people, it’s a hospital for sick people.

John 13:34 New International Version

34 “A new command I give you: Love one another. As I have loved you, so you must love one another.

How does Jesus love us? While we were (are) still sinners He gave His life for us.

The question is are you ready to receive His great love?

Matthew 9:12-13 New International Version

12 On hearing this, Jesus said, “It is not the healthy who need a doctor, but the sick. 13 But go and learn what this means: ‘I desire mercy, not sacrifice.’ For I have not come to call the righteous, but sinners.”

2 Corinthians 1:3 New International Version

3 Praise be to the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of compassion and the God of all comfort.

While the Father show passion for the returned son the older brother showed contempt.

He fell into the comparison trap, a toxic trap.

This world encourages us to compare all that we are and all that we do, cause us to criticize and complain.

We forget all that God has done for us and how much He loves us.

1 Corinthians 13:1 New International Version

1 If I speak in the tongues of men or of angels, but do not have love, I am only a resounding gong or a clanging cymbal.

Matthew 9:36-37 New International Version

36 When he saw the crowds, he had compassion on them, because they were harassed and helpless, like sheep without a shepherd. 37 Then he said to his disciples, “The harvest is plentiful but the workers are few.

Let’s be the Father’s children who have the Father’s heart.

Show His grace in all that we do.

Show His love to everyone.

Stop comparing and looking to all that others have.

Live like you’ve already been given everything, because you have!

Closing Prayer: Ken Smith

Never forget, God is in you and with you always. He will never forget you, He will never turn away. He is listening and always, God Loves You No Matter What!
