SERMON NOTES: 12-8-2019- -Pastor Justin Miller

So Will I, "Wired to Worship."

Everyone worships.

We either worship God or something God created which begs the question, “what or who are you worshipping?” When we decide to put God as the focus of our worship we discover that worship isn’t just something He commands FROM us, it’s something God created FOR us!

“Worship is natural. Our question is never IF we’re going to worship, it’s WHAT we’re going to worship.” What do you observe people worshipping?

Psalm 19:1 New International Version (NIV)

1 The heavens declare the glory of God; the skies proclaim the work of his hands.

Romans 1:20-24 New International Version (NIV)

20 For since the creation of the world God’s invisible qualities—his eternal power and divine nature—have been clearly seen, being understood from what has been made, so that people are without excuse.

21 For although they knew God, they neither glorified him as God nor gave thanks to him, but their thinking became futile and their foolish hearts were darkened.

22 Although they claimed to be wise, they became fools

23 and exchanged the glory of the immortal God for images made to look like a mortal human being and birds and animals and reptiles.

24 Therefore God gave them over in the sinful desires of their hearts to sexual impurity for the degrading of their bodies with one another.

Why would you waste your worship on anything less than God?

Worship is saying, "WOW" to the one that can do what no one else can do.

“The more I know about God, the more impressed I am and the more I love Him.” How does that truth turn into worship?

Psalm 103 New International Version (NIV)

1 Praise the Lord, my soul; all my inmost being, praise his holy name.

2 Praise the Lord, my soul, and forget not all his benefits—

3 who forgives all your sins and heals all your diseases,

4 who redeems your life from the pit crowns you with love and compassion,

5 who satisfies your desires with good things so that your youth is renewed like the eagle’s.

6 The Lord works righteousness and justice for all the oppressed.

7 He made known his ways to Moses, his deeds to the people of Israel:

8 The Lord is compassionate and gracious, slow to anger, abounding in love.

9 He will not always accuse, nor will he harbor his anger forever;

10 he does not treat us as our sins deserve or repay us according to our iniquities.

11 For as high as the heavens are above the earth, so great is his love for those who fear him;

12 as far as the east is from the west, so far has he removed our transgressions from us.

13 As a father has compassion on his children, so the Lord has compassion on those who fear him;

14 for he knows how we are formed, he remembers that we are dust.

15 The life of mortals is like grass, they flourish like a flower of the field;

16 the wind blows over it and it is gone, and its place remembers it no more.

17 But from everlasting to everlasting the Lord’s love is with those who fear him, and his righteousness with their children’s children—

18 with those who keep his covenant and remember to obey his precepts.

19 The Lord has established his throne in heaven, and his kingdom rules over all.

20 Praise the Lord, you his angels, you mighty ones who do his bidding, who obey his word.

21 Praise the Lord, all his heavenly hosts, you his servants who do his will.

22 Praise the Lord, all his works everywhere in his dominion.

Praise the Lord, my soul.

Worship doesn’t just put God in his place; it puts us in our place.

You can’t over-worship God!

You can’t over-worship the name above all names!

Revelation 4:11 New International Version (NIV)

11 “You are worthy, our Lord and God, to receive glory and honor and power, for you created all things, and by your will they were created and have their being.”

At Real Hope In Christ our purpose is to love the Lord our God with all of our hearts and with all of our souls and with all of our minds.

Our focus begins with all the people of Citrus County and by the Grace of God we will:

Gather together to worship and celebrate God,

Grow in our knowledge and faith,

Give in love and,

Go out into the world to shine brightly with the light of salvation from our Savior Jesus Christ and tell the world what we know is true; God Loves You No Matter What!

We boldly ask God to help us shake the Earth and touch the Heavens!

Proverbs 3:5-6 New International Version (NIV)

5Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding;

6in all your ways submit to Him, and He will make your paths straight.

We look forward to seeing you again. Thank you and may God bless you!

PRAYER: Is Prayer Important?

The way of prayer is truly the way of life. Let us give ourselves to prayer! Jesus prayed much even though He was God’s only begotten Son from eternity past.

Through His words and His actions Jesus tells us how import prayer is.

“Now in the morning, having risen a long while before daylight, He went out and departed to a solitary place; and there He prayed.” Mark 1:35.

“You do not have because you do not ask.” James 4:2.

“Until now you have asked nothing in My name. Ask, and you will receive, that your joy may be full.” John 16:24

Prayer Partners are available at the front of the worship area after today’s service.
