Sermon Notes & Study Guide for 2/11 to 2/17/2018

The first step in anything that we do takes courage.  As Christians we know that God gives us strength and courage to take every step in our walk through this life.

  • How important do you feel it is to daily study God’s Word?
  • As a Christian do you think you have to study God’s word?

Suggested reading: 1 Corinthians 9:24-25

Paul tells us that all of the runners run the race, but only one gets the prize.

  • What does he mean to run in such a way to get the prize?
  • What kind of prize are we working towards?

Hebrews 10:23-25.
Paul says it is important for the church to meet regularly.

  • What are some traps we can fall into that prevent us from going to church?
  • What word were we told was originally used to refer to the church?

The Greek word Ecclessia was used to describe the political assembly, when the representatives gathered together.  They didn’t call it in, they gathered together.

  • Why do you think it is important to gather together with the body?
  • What are some of the things we do together, where power is increased?

It takes courage to stand up and make any commitment.  But if we are going to get right with God and live the life that Jesus has called us to live we must take the first step.

If you are ready then speak out and declare Jesus as your savior.

Romans 10:13, “For whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved.” Say, “Father in Heaven, I believe that Jesus died for my sins.” And God will impart eternal life to your spirit.
