Say What!? The Great Commission

Matthew 28: 18-20 New International Version (NIV)

18 Then Jesus came to them and said, “All authority in heaven and on earth has been given to me. 19 Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, 20 and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you. And surely I am with you always, to the very end of the age.”

The great commission – Jesus commissions us to go and make disciples; we are to bring Jesus to the people.

Changed lives are changing lives.

We’re saved so we can be sent.

If Christians miss the mission, the world misses the message.

2 Peter 3:9 New International Version (NIV)

9 The Lord is not slow in keeping his promise, as some understand slowness. Instead he is patient with you, not wanting anyone to perish, but everyone to come to repentance.

God’s desire is that EVERYONE come to know him.

"If I don’t GO, they won’t KNOW."

Romans 10:13-15 New International Version (NIV)

13 for, “Everyone who calls on the name of the Lord will be saved.” 14 How, then, can they call on the one they have not believed in? And how can they believe in the one of whom they have not heard? And how can they hear without someone preaching to them? 15 And how can anyone preach unless they are sent? As it is written: “How beautiful are the feet of those who bring good news!”Then, after desire has conceived, it gives birth to sin; and sin, when it is full-grown, gives birth to death.

We’re called to bring good news!

How beautiful are the feet that bring good news.

As Jesus left the 99, we need to go after the one.

Who’s your ONE?
