Make It Matter: The Purpose of Our Potential
Pastor Daniel Groves.
God did not give you anything that He intended for you to waste. In week four of “Make It Matter” Pastor Daniel Groves reminds us that the purpose of our potential comes from Him, but it requires stewardship.
Can God trust you to be a good steward?
Romans 8:28 (AMP)
And we know [with great confidence] that God [who is deeply concerned about us] causes all things to work together [as a plan] for good for those who love God, to those who are called according to His plan and purpose.
Romans 11:29 (AMP)
For the gifts and the calling of God are irrevocable [for He does not withdraw what He has given, nor does He change His mind about those to whom He gives His grace or to whom He sends His call].
God does not take away the gift He has given us; we can choose to use them or discard them.
God did give you anything that He intended you to waste.
It is essential that you use the gifts that God has blessed you with.
Hebrews 10:23 (NASB)
Let’s hold firmly to the confession of our hope without wavering, for He who promised is faithful;
John 3:16 (ESV)
“For God so loved the world, that He gave His only Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have eternal life.
1 Corinthians 2:5 (GWS)
So that your faith would not be based on human wisdom but on God’s power.
Faithfulness isn’t always fun but it is always fruitful.
John 15:5 (GWS)
"I am the vine. You are the branches. Those who live in me while I live in them will produce a lot of fruit. But you can’t produce anything without me.
Why do we try to “do” life on our own?
Galatians 5:22-23 (NIV)
But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, forbearance, kindness, goodness, faithfulness,
gentleness and self-control.
Luke 16:10 (NLT)
“If you are faithful in little things, you will be faithful in large ones. But if you are dishonest in
little things, you won’t be honest with greater responsibilities
There is enough grace and enough mercies to cover any and all sins.
You are chosen, hand-picked and shaped by God.
1. Stewardship Begins in the Heart
Two things people do not like to be told what or how to do; Their money and raising their children.
Proverbs 4:23 (NLT)
Guard your heart above all else, for it determines the course of your life.
2. Stewardship is for Every Season of Your Life.
Matthew 6:21 (NLT)
Wherever your treasure is, there the desires of your heart will also be.
3. Stewardship Requires Willingness.
Don’t bury your potential – live your purpose.
James 4:14 New International Version
Why, you do not even know what will happen tomorrow. What is your life? You are a mist that appears for a little while and then vanishes.
Are you living your life to your fullest potential?
Who are you reaching? Does your life look like Jesus?
How do you spend your time?
TIME = Things I Must Experience
2 Corinthians 9:8 (NLT)
And God will generously provide all you need. Then you will always have everything you need and plenty left over to share with others.
God will never leave you where He found you.
We make a living by what we get but make a life by what we give.
Luke 6:38 (GNT)
Give to others, and God will give to you. Indeed, you will receive a full measure, a generous helping, poured into your hands—all that you can hold. The measure you use for others is the one that God will use for you.
When we align ourselves under the Might Hand of God He will provide everything we need.
Proverbs 11:25 (NIV)
A generous person will prosper; whoever refreshes others will be refreshed. |
