Luke 17:11-19 New International Version (NIV)
Jesus Heals Ten Men With Leprosy
11 Now on his way to Jerusalem, Jesus traveled along the border between Samaria and Galilee.
12 As he was going into a village, ten men who had leprosy[a] met him. They stood at a distance
13 and called out in a loud voice, “Jesus, Master, have pity on us!”
14 When he saw them, he said, “Go, show yourselves to the priests.” And as they went, they were cleansed.
15 One of them, when he saw he was healed, came back, praising God in a loud voice.
16 He threw himself at Jesus’ feet and thanked him—and he was a Samaritan.
17 Jesus asked, “Were not all ten cleansed? Where are the other nine?
18 Has no one returned to give praise to God except this foreigner?”
19 Then he said to him, “Rise and go; your faith has made you well.”
How many Lepers were there and how many came back?
Why do you think only one came back to thank Jesus?
Aren’t we all, at sometimes like the nine?
Why do we sometimes not take the time to thank God when he does things in our lives?
Could we ever thank God enough?
The Greek word for faith is pistis.
PISTIS = FAITH = BELIEF
Do you have the faith to go the distance? To make the round trip?
All ten had the faith to be healed but only one had the faith to be faithful, to come back and return with thanks for all that God has given.
Faith isn’t complete, it’s not finished until it is faithful.
John 10:27 New International Version (NIV)
27 My sheep listen to my voice; I know them, and they follow me.
- Be the one who keeps coming back.
- If you fall get back up.
- Come back to God and say thank you.
- Return what is His.
- Be the blessing.
- Return what you have been blessed with.
Romans 12:1 New International Version (NIV)
A Living Sacrifice
17 Therefore, I urge you, brothers and sisters, in view of God’s mercy, to offer your bodies as a living sacrifice, holy and pleasing to God—this is your true and proper worship.
God wants to turn your faith into faithfulness. Be the one that comes back not to just take the blessing, but be a blessing. Be the one that comes back to say thanks and to worship.
Be the one to let God know you love Him and that even if he never did another thing for you, you’re here because of what He’s already done for you in Jesus.
At Real Hope In Christ our purpose is to love the Lord our God with all of our hearts and with all of our souls and with all of our minds.
Our focus begins with all the people of Citrus County and by the Grace of God we will:
Gather together to worship and celebrate God,
Grow in our knowledge and faith,
Give in love and,
Go out into the world to shine brightly with the light of salvation from our Savior Jesus Christ and tell the world what we know is true; God Loves You No Matter What!
We boldly ask God to help us shake the Earth and touch the Heavens!
Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding; in all your ways submit to Him, and He will make your paths straight.
We look forward to seeing you again. Thank you and may God bless you!
