Miracles: Jesus Heals the Leper

Miracles occur when God’s supernatural power intervenes in the natural order of things – the natural order is changed from what we’d expect to a different outcome.

Mark 1:35-40(NIV)

35 Very early in the morning, while it was still dark, Jesus got up, left the house and went off to a solitary place, where he prayed. 36 Simon and his companions went to look for him, 37 and when they found him, they exclaimed: “Everyone is looking for you!”

38 Jesus replied, “Let us go somewhere else; to the nearby villages; so I can preach there also. That is why I have come.” 39 So he traveled throughout Galilee, preaching in their synagogues and driving out demons.

40 A man with leprosy[a] came to him and begged him on his knees, “If you are willing, you can make me clean.”

Miracles are not the primary objective of Jesus’ mission.

Jesus’ mission has eternal ramifications – while the miracles have temporal ones.

Mission > Miracles

Mark 1:41-44(NIV)

41 Jesus was indignant.[a] He reached out his hand and touched the man. “I am willing,” he said. “Be clean!” 42 Immediately the leprosy left him and he was cleansed.

43 Jesus sent him away at once with a strong warning: 44 “See that you don’t tell this to anyone. But go, show yourself to the priest and offer the sacrifices that Moses commanded for your cleansing, as a testimony to them.”

Jesus responded: I AM WILLING

Jesus is constantly working on our behalf.

Disobedience disrupts God’s work.

At Real Hope In Christ our purpose is to love the Lord our God with all of our hearts and with all of our souls and with all of our minds.

Our focus begins with all the people of Citrus County and by the Grace of God we will:

Gather together to worship and celebrate God,

Grow in our knowledge and faith,

Give in love and,

Go out into the world to shine brightly with the light of salvation from our Savior Jesus Christ and tell the world what we know is true; God Loves You No Matter What!

We boldly ask God to help us shake the Earth and touch the Heavens!

Proverbs 3:5-6

Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding; in all your ways submit to Him, and He will make your paths straight.

We look forward to seeing you again. Thank you and may God bless you!
