“Growing In The Do Over,” Pastor Daniel Groves.

SERMON NOTES:

The Do Over isn’t about doing it over, it’s about doing it better. Get better, break the cycle of failure. God has your back.

God’s redirection in a moment could very well be God’s protection.

God’s not looking for perfect, He’s looking for progress.

You have to discipline yourself to get stronger.

"I’m going to turn and get better."

Matthew 6:33 (ESV)
But seek first the kingdom of God and his righteousness, and all these things will be added to you.

The only way to fail in prayer is not to fail.

Good is the good, good Father who is full of Grace.

Hebrews 4:16 (ESV)
Let us then with confidence draw near to the throne of grace, that we may receive mercy and find grace to help in time of need.

God is not mad at you, He is madly in love with you.

Philippians 3:12-14 (MSG)
I’m not saying that I have this all together, that I have it made. But I am well on my way, reaching out for Christ, who has so wondrously reached out for me. Friends, don’t get me wrong: By no means do I count myself an expert in all of this, but I’ve got my eye on the goal, where God is beckoning us onward—to Jesus. I’m off and running, and I’m not turning back.

Three ways to focus on doing in the Do Over.

1. Remember there is NEW STRENGTH

Isaiah 40:31 (AMP)
But those who wait for the Lord [who expect, look for, and hope in Him] Will gain new strength and renew their power; They will lift up their wings [and rise up close to God] like eagles [rising toward the sun]; They will run and not become weary, They will walk and not grow tired.

Psalms 18:32 (ESV)
The God who equipped me with strength and made my way blameless.

Be grateful that God forgives you and doesn’t hold your mistakes against you.

1 Peter 2:9-10 (MSG)
But you are the ones chosen by God, chosen for the high calling of priestly work, chosen to be a holy people, God’s instruments to do his work and speak out for him, to tell others of the night-and-day difference he made for you—from nothing to something, from rejected to accepted.

2. Receive His GREAT GRACE

Acts 4:33 (AMP)
And with great ability and power the apostles were continuously testifying to the resurrection of the Lord Jesus, and great grace [God’s remarkable loving kindness and favor and goodwill] rested richly upon them all.

3. Walk in Renewed Power

God does not CALL the qualified, He qualifies the called.

God is not looking for perfect, He’s looking for your heart. He’s looking for your yes.

Romans 8:28 (CEB)
We know that God works all things together for good for the ones who love God, for those who are called according to his purpose.

Ephesians 2:10 New Living Translation
For we are God’s masterpiece. He has created us anew in Christ Jesus, so we can do the good things he planned for us long ago.

Never forget, God is in you and with you always. He will never forget you, He will never turn away. He is listening and always, God Loves You No Matter What!

Not Your Mama’s Bible Study presents
Following The Messiah
Jeremy Dehut and Barry Britnell

See the gospel through a different lens as two men explore the places where Jesus lived during His life on earth in Appian Media’s Following The Messiah. Get up close to the ruins of the ancient city of Capernaum, take a boat ride on the Sea of Galilee, and walk through the arid wilderness of Judea. Jeremy Dehut and Barry Britnell are your tour guides on this incredible journey through the Bible lands, both old and new. Over a year in the making, "Following The Messiah" tells the story of Jesus Christ as told through the Bible and its lands. Beverages and a light snack will be served.
