PRAYER: Is Prayer Important?

The way of prayer is truly the way of life. Let us give ourselves to prayer! Jesus prayed much even though He was God’s only begotten Son from eternity past.

Through His words and His actions Jesus tells us how import prayer is.

“Now in the morning, having risen a long while before daylight, He went out and departed to a solitary place; and there He prayed.” Mark 1:35.

“You do not have because you do not ask.” James 4:2.

“Until now you have asked nothing in My name. Ask, and you will receive, that your joy may be full.” John 16:24

Prayer Partners are available at the front of the worship area after today’s service.

From Now On – Pastor Jeremy Foster

From now on, I will find REST.

Philippians 4:6 New International Version (NIV)

6 Do not be anxious about anything, but in every situation, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God.

From now on, I will stop freaking out – let go and let GOD.

Immanuel means God with US.

Proverbs 3:5-6 New International Version (NIV)

5 Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding;

6 in all your ways submit to him, and he will make your paths straight.

Matthew 11:28 New International Version (NIV)

28 “Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest.

Church is where you get connection and direction, NOT where you get rest. A relationship with the church is NOT a relationship with Jesus.

Matthew 11:29-30 New International Version (NIV)

29 Take my yoke upon you and learn from me, for I am gentle and humble in heart, and you will find rest for your souls. 30 For my yoke is easy and my burden is light.”

From now on, I will get my nose out of everyone’s business.

Ephesians 4:26-29 New International Version (NIV)

26 “In your anger do not sin.” Do not let the sun go down while you are still angry, 27 and do not give the devil a foothold. 28 Anyone who has been stealing must steal no longer, but must work, doing something useful with their own hands, that they may have something to share with those in need.

29 Do not let any unwholesome talk come out of your mouths, but only what is helpful for building others up according to their needs, that it may benefit those who listen.

If you don’t have anything good to say, PRAY.

Proverbs 26:17 New International Version (NIV)

17 Like one who grabs a stray dog by the ears is someone who rushes into a quarrel not their own.

From now on, I will FORGIVE.

Trash attracts trash. Bitterness and un-forgiveness clutters my life.

Matthew 6:14-15 New International Version (NIV)

14 For if you forgive other people when they sin against you, your heavenly Father will also forgive you. 15 But if you do not forgive others their sins, your Father will not forgive your sins.

If I don’t forgive, I can’t go where God wants me to go.

Proverbs 3:5-6

Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding; in all your ways submit to Him, and He will make your paths straight.

We look forward to seeing you again. Thank you and May God bless you!
