Easter Celebration: He Is Risen!
You’ve got to do something pretty BIG to be called the King.
Jesus, through His resurrection, accomplished the most prolific thing in history – His own resurrection. Because of this, He IS the King of Kings and He loves you no matter what!
John 18:33-40 New International Version (NIV)
33 Pilate then went back inside the palace, summoned Jesus and asked him, “Are you the king of the Jews?”
34 “Is that your own idea,” Jesus asked, “or did others talk to you about me?”
35 “Am I a Jew?” Pilate replied. “Your own people and chief priests handed you over to me. What is it you have done?”
36 Jesus said, “My kingdom is not of this world. If it were, my servants would fight to prevent my arrest by the Jewish leaders. But now my kingdom is from another place.”
37 “You are a king, then!” said Pilate.
Jesus answered, “You say that I am a king. In fact, the reason I was born and came into the world is to testify to the truth. Everyone on the side of truth listens to me.”
38 “What is truth?” retorted Pilate. With this he went out again to the Jews gathered there and said, “I find no basis for a charge against him.
39 But it is your custom for me to release to you one prisoner at the time of the Passover. Do you want me to release ‘the king of the Jews’?”
40 They shouted back, “No, not him! Give us Barabbas!” Now Barabbas had taken part in an uprising.
Jesus is standing before Pilate being questioned. Then, the very people who just a few days earlier had shouted “Hosanna”, were now shouting “crucify him”. Why do you think the people turned on Jesus?
What are some things we do to turn our backs on Jesus and shut God out of our lives?
2 Corinthians 4:17 New International Version (NIV)
17 For our light and momentary troubles are achieving for us an eternal glory that far outweighs them all.
He’s not always the king we want, but He’s exactly the King we need.
Jesus wasn’t just crucified for us; He came back from the grave for us.
Even when we think God has given up on us, we should remember the fact that He loves us with a purpose and a passion so much so that He sent Jesus to die for us.
He’s never going to quit on us. How have you seen evidence of this in your life?
At Real Hope In Christ our purpose is to love the Lord our God with all of our hearts and with all of our souls and with all of our minds.
Our focus begins with all the people of Citrus County and by the Grace of God we will:
Gather together to worship and celebrate God,
Grow in our knowledge and faith,
Give in love and,
Go out into the world to shine brightly with the light of salvation from our Savior Jesus Christ and tell the world what we know is true; God Loves You No Matter What!
We boldly ask God to help us shake the Earth and touch the Heavens!
Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding; in all your ways submit to Him, and He will make your paths straight.
We look forward to seeing you again. Thank you and may God bless you!
