Bring On The Blessings, Frustrated Faith

Invisible Prison

Matthew 11:2 New International Version (NIV)

2 When John, who was in prison, heard about the deeds of the Messiah, he sent his disciples 3 to ask him, “Are you the one who is to come, or should we expect someone else?”

God doesn’t always live up to your expectations but He does live up to His Word.

Job 14:19 New International Version (NIV)

19 as water wears away stones, and torrents wash away the soil, so you destroy a person’s hope.

Jeremiah 15:18 New International Version (NIV)

18 Why is my pain unending, and my wound grievous and incurable? You are to me like a deceptive brook, like a spring that fails.

1 Kings 19:3 – 4 New International Version (NIV)

3 Elijah was afraid[a] and ran for his life. When he came to Beersheba in Judah, he left his servant there,

4 while he himself went a day’s journey into the wilderness. He came to a broom bush, sat down under it and prayed that he might die. “I have had enough, Lord,” he said. “Take my life; I am no better than my ancestors.”

Matthew 11:2 New International Version (NIV)

2 When John, who was in prison, heard about the deeds of the Messiah, he sent his disciples,

A prison perspective will always make you doubt your destiny.

Your Faith is more important than your failures.

Luke 22:31-32 New International Version (NIV)

31 “Simon, Simon, Satan has asked to sift all of you as wheat.

32 But I have prayed for you, Simon, that your faith may not fail. And when you have turned back, strengthen your brothers.”

Mark 9:23 New International Version (NIV)

23 “‘If you can’?” said Jesus. “Everything is possible for one who believes.”

Even when you doubt God still shows up.

John 20:19 New International Version (NIV)

19 On the evening of that first day of the week, when the disciples were together, with the doors locked for fear of the Jewish leaders, Jesus came and stood among them and said, “Peace be with you!”

John 20:24 New International Version (NIV)

24 Now Thomas (also known as Didymus), one of the Twelve, was not with the disciples when Jesus came.

John 20:25 New International Version (NIV)

25 So the other disciples told him, “We have seen the Lord!”
But he said to them, “Unless I see the nail marks in his hands and put my finger where the nails were, and put my hand into his side, I will not believe.”

John 20:26-27 New International Version (NIV)

A week later his disciples were in the house again and Thomas was with them. Though the doors were locked, Jesus came and stood among them and said, “Peace be with you!” 27 Then he said to Thomas, “Put your finger here; see my hands. Reach out your hand and put it into my side. Stop doubting and believe.”
